Other workshops postponed :
Like so many of us, I have had to postpone all advertised Bath Watercolour Workshops and have ceased travelling to Art Societies.
I am offering a ‘credit note’ arrangement for all my own workshop participants and arranging new replacement dates for the workshops at the Museum of Bath Stone for the autumn.
I hope to be able to confirm these with you in a couple of months and will post them online and through Instagram and Facebook.

More about Atmospheric Seascapes Friday 1 May 10.30-3:
There’s nothing like the fantastic ability of watercolours to render watery subjects! This day is all about exploring the wet-in-wet properties of the media by focussing on seascapes. Bring along photographs of your favourite stretch of coast, beach, cliffs or rock pools to paint.
Try placing transparent pigment next to granular colours and watch them react. Use clingfilm for rocks and fine table salt for sand, under gravity painted skies.
There will be demonstrations of wet-in-wet painting techniques throughout and our day will end with ways to review your painting.
Our group is kept to a maximum of eight participants so that there is a good view of the step-by-step demonstrations plus an element of personalised tutoring during the day.
Venue: Museum of Bath Stone, 54a Combe Road, Combe Down Village, Bath BA2 5HZ.
The day costs £80 including lunch and materials. Materials are chosen to help you get great results.

More about Imaginary landscapes Postponed until autumn. :
This day will help you to paint more from the imagination and move away from depending on source photos. Using memories, multiple images and talking around our ideas, we will explore questions of imagery and composition. Step-by-step we will then build up our scenes in watercolour to transport the viewer.
Demonstrations of my gravity painting techniques throughout will help you lay down loose colour, create detail and adjust your image by removing paint.
